My husband punched me....?

He has never hit me before until last night and I am wondering if I should get a divorce. He said it's because I over cooked the pork roast he's been waiting for all day at work. He said his boss has been giving him hell at work and he deserves a half way competent wife who can "at least cook a damn roast." I bled a lot and it hurts when I move my jaw. He hit me in front of our young child of 3 years who began to cry. My husband told him to shut the **** up. He has never acted this way before and I don't know what I should do. He hasn't apologized and insists that I deserved it. Maybe I did deserve it? Is it normal for husbands to act this way? My mother was hit much worse by my dad and my aunt by her husbands. But they cheated on their men. This is all just so confusing!
