Catching some big catfish help?

Me and a couple buddies have been night fishing for the past 2 weeks almost every night with night crawlers and we have caughten tons of channel cats up to 12 pounds. We have tried using live bait but nothing wants to bite on it. Stink baits only attract carp in the river. We have tried many spots but its all the same. The rivers a bit high so you cant fish in the actual river so we fish the backwater ponds and the tailwaters of the river and small banks. Any tips on what to do to catch the bigger fish? We are going to set lines out tmrw night and come back for them when were done fishing that night. Any help at all would be good. and dont say "fish on the river" cause we pretty much are.
