It feels like there's an egg under my throat? Help!?

The area under my tongue is just swollen, (not legitimately /right/ under my tongue, but that's the best way to describe it; the place on the outside where the head connects to the throat, near the underside of the jaw). It hurts an /extreme/ amount whenever I try to swallow, and I've been in this condition for maybe 3-4 days. I'm not seriously concerned, I'd just like to know if there was a quicker way to get rid of this than waiting it out, maybe a home remedy that worked well for someone. Thank you!
