Why can't I make crawlers in Black Ops Zombies?

I used to be able to make them all the time but now I literally can not make ANY. No matter what round I'm on they survive the initial blast and die on the next one. I used to be able to make them fine. What can I do and has anyone else experienced this? If so how did you fix it?
